  1. i used to be an usher at the Avalon, Aprox. 1965-1970. I loved working there. Amazing place., and the best memories as a growing teen. I remember WeeFolks hobby shop across the street, and right next to the theatre was Pop’s Sweet shop with the best buttered popcorn around, homemade fudge, fountain drinks. And further down the block was the Kickapoo Inn good food from the “Capone Days”. Climbing to the top of the tower was a childhood dare. I spent many days in that old place, and loved every one.
