  1. I had a friend who lived in a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Wilmette, her dad was an architect. They told me Wright included some furniture of his own design in many of his buildings. I stayed at her home and saw the furniture, it looks similar to what you see here. They tell me the chairs were really uncomfortable…

    • Hi Randi,

      Frank Lloyd Wright, while a gifted designer, was an extremely arrogant man.

      He insisted that the interior furnishings be part of the job, and, yes, some of his furniture was quite uncomfortable. It generally resembled that pictured in the South Shore house, a house he did not design.

      Wright also was notorious for leaking roofs on a number of his designs. He was not practical at all.
