  1. I can only remember getting cart from sweat shop at 74th and Exchange….Had aabout 50 houses west of Yates.
    All the fun after that was afternoon bike delivery of ‘The American’ out of hut at 79th and Saginaw.

    • Hi Ron,

      We called the place at 74th and Exchange, Chuck’s. It was named the Windsor Park News Agency.

      I had a Daily News route there early.

      Later I had a Daily News route at South Shore News Agency, a place we called Larry’s and which was located on 75th.

      Then I took a morning Tribune route there.

      I avoided The American because you had to collect bills for them.

  2. Interesting photo, I grew up in this neighborhood in the 1980’s….very different place…I believe there was a barbershop here at that time
