  1. The large, beautiful building on the right hand side of the photo is the Southmoor Hotel which was on the northwest corner of 67th and Stony Island. The streetcar is headed south, possibly at or near 69th and Stony Island.

  2. The large beautiful building in the background is not the Southmoor Hotel, but the Windermere East Hotel. The streetcar is turning from northbound on Stony Island Avenue to Westbound on 56th Street. Directly behind the photographer is the IC Electric main line embankment. The streetcar will proceed under it, and then turn north on Lake Park Avenue on its way downtown. At the time, this was the regular route of the Stony Island cars, which were converted to bus in 1951.
