  1. WOW! Today there are not near that number trees, or the diversity seen here. The flower gardens have followed the same path. However, the park is still a refuge and still beautiful! Visit — it is rare you see more than a dozen people, unless the tennis courts are in use with young folks. Thanks for posting!

    Thank you. Linda for the update. In my day, South Shore generally had many beautiful trees. They were mainly Elms and formed almost a cathedral-effect on some streets. They were American Elms and Dutch Elm Disease wiped them out.

  2. I loved walking around here back in the 1960s. My father often took my sister and I, usually after visiting the playground. It was so beautiful.
